Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our research peptides and services.
What are peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as building blocks of proteins.
Is it legal to sell peptides in the U.S. for research purposes only?
Yes. U.S. companies may sell peptides if they are clearly labeled "For Research Use Only. Not for human or diagnostic use." Under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (21 U.S.C. §321(g)(1)), a product is considered a "drug" only if it is intended for human or animal use. If labeling and promotion remain strictly for research use, the FDA does not regulate them as drugs.
As a research facility, it is your responsibility to check and comply with all local and regional laws in your area regarding the purchase and use of these materials.

- 21 CFR §809.10(c)(2)(i) – RUO Labeling Rule
- FDA RUO Guidance (2013)

What does "For Research Use Only" mean?
"For Research Use Only" (RUO) means the product is intended exclusively for laboratory research, scientific investigation, and educational purposes. RUO products are not approved for human or animal consumption, diagnostic procedures, or therapeutic applications.
This designation is consistent with FDA labeling guidelines under 21 CFR §809.10. Researchers are responsible for complying with all applicable regulations. For full details, see our Terms of Use.
Are your products for human use?
No. Products are sold strictly for laboratory and research use. They are not intended for human or veterinary consumption, food, drug, or household use.
Who can purchase from Limitless Compounds?
You must be 21 years of age or older and agree that products are for research use only. Checkout requires a registered account.
How do I use peptides?
Usage instructions cannot be provided by Limitless Compounds, as all of our products are for research and testing only. All products are guaranteed for purity and identification.
Do I need a prescription to purchase peptides from Limitless Compounds?
Our peptides are intended for research purposes only and are not for human consumption. They are tested for quality and purity and meet the standard for research use.
What is HPLC testing and why does it matter for peptide purity?
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is an analytical technique that separates, identifies, and quantifies each component in a peptide sample. It is the industry-standard method for determining peptide purity because it can detect impurities at very low concentrations.
When a peptide undergoes HPLC testing, the sample is dissolved and passed through a column under high pressure. Each component elutes at a different time, producing a chromatogram that shows the relative abundance of the target peptide versus any contaminants. A purity reading of 98% or higher is generally considered research-grade. Limitless Compounds products are tested using HPLC, and results are documented in each product's Certificate of Analysis when available.
What is a Certificate of Analysis (COA)?
A Certificate of Analysis (COA) is an official document issued by a testing laboratory that reports the results of quality-control tests performed on a specific batch of product. It typically includes purity percentage, molecular weight confirmation, batch number, and the testing methods used.
COAs provide transparency and allow researchers to verify that the materials they receive meet the specifications listed on the product label. When a COA is available for a product, you can view and download it from that product's detail page in our shop.
What purity level are Limitless Compounds peptides?
Limitless Compounds peptides are manufactured to a minimum purity of 98%, with most products exceeding 99% purity as verified by independent HPLC and mass spectrometry analysis. Batch-specific purity data is available on each product's Certificate of Analysis when provided.
We work with independent third-party laboratories and encourage customers to conduct their own verification testing. Purity results for individual batches appear on product detail pages when a COA is available.
Can I view batch-specific test results for my order?
Yes. When Certificates of Analysis are available, they are linked from the relevant product detail page. Search our shop for your product to view HPLC purity data, mass spectrometry results, and other quality metrics for the batch on file.
If you cannot locate a COA for your product, contact us and we will help.
How should I store my peptides?
Lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides should be stored at -20°C or colder in a sealed container protected from moisture and light. Under these conditions, most peptides remain stable for 12 months or longer. Reconstituted peptides should be refrigerated at 2–8°C and used within 4–6 weeks.
Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, which can degrade peptide integrity. If you need to use a reconstituted peptide over multiple sessions, consider aliquoting the solution into single-use portions.
Some peptides may require refrigeration even in lyophilized form—follow the guidance on your product label.
What is the difference between lyophilized and reconstituted peptides?
Lyophilized peptides are in a dry, freeze-dried powder form as shipped. Reconstituted peptides have been dissolved into a liquid solution using bacteriostatic water. Lyophilized peptides have a longer shelf life and greater stability, while reconstituted peptides are ready for immediate use but must be refrigerated.
All Limitless Compounds peptides ship in lyophilized form for maximum stability during transit and storage. Researchers reconstitute them as needed for their specific protocols.
What is peptide reconstitution?
Reconstitution is the process of dissolving a lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powder into a liquid solution using bacteriostatic water or another appropriate solvent. This step is necessary before the peptide can be accurately measured and used in research applications.
The volume of solvent added determines the final concentration of the solution.
How long does shipping take?
We aim to get your order out as quickly as possible. Orders that are not awaiting synthesis typically ship the next business day.
We ship packages based on your location, and tracking numbers are provided once shipped.
Please note that while we do our best to ensure timely delivery, unexpected delays such as severe weather or carrier issues may impact transit times. Delivery times vary based on location and shipping provider.
Do you ship internationally?
We currently focus on domestic fulfillment. Contact us if you have questions about delivery to your region or need help before placing an order.
How do I track my order?
